Pink Hobo – The Art of Yo Gabba Gabba Recap
Celeste and I took a quick adventure across the Mississippi to the NE side of Minneapolis to check out what the gentle people of Pink Hobo had up their sleeves this time. The venue has had some really great shows and there was no doubt that this one would have some interesting things to check peruse. We didn’t have much time to stick around and hi-five or slap ass, so we popped in, took some flicks, winked at the DJ and sneaked out the back. We had a 9:15 appointment to catch MOON so our mission was succinct. (Awesome by the way.) If you haven’t, make sure to pop in and take a peek for yourself. It’s most definitely worth a visit.
Favorite Sneakers
Lately, I’ve seen more than a handful of sneakers that I’ve quite thoroughly enjoyed and would love to eventually purchase. Take a quick look below and some of the swell footwear that is either in shops now, or soon to be released by various companies.

Clae – Russell (above)

Nike – Holiday 2009 Sweet Classic Low (above)

Creative Recreation – DiCoco in Black Patent (above)

Nike - Terminator Hi Jersey (above)

Nike – Summer 2009 Dunk Hi Splatter (above)

Nike – AM1 Hold Tight (above)
I find most of these gems on some super duper blogs such as Highsnobiety, Hypebeast or Sneaker Freaker. These sites cover a wide range of topics surrounding “urban” fashion, or streetwear. If you are in or around MPLS, check out VS Social Standard or Status. When I’m in Chicago, I usually hit up Saint Alfred or Leaders. When I roll through Denver, The 400 or Family Affair (Sorry if I left anyone out). These of course, aren’t the only places to read about or shop for sneakers but make me happy.
Beautiful/Decay Book 1: Supernaturalism
Beautiful/Decay is releasing a 164 page magazine called Supernaturalism featuring a pretty outstanding line up of artists from all over planet Earth. The book will be in a limited run of 1500, hand numbered and including the work of one of our favorite Minneapolis illustrators, TheWorkSteady aka Colin Strandberg. Keep your eyes peeled, it should be up for grabs quite soon.

UNTITLED No.20 _ Trip @ the Denver Art Museum

I’m super stoked… extremely stoked… beyond words… to be printing alongside Rick Griffith & Matter crew, as well as John Fellows, Scot Lefavor, Markham Maes this Friday @ DAM. The syndicate (all of the for-mentioned) will be rocking out 12″ acid blotter sheets that will be hand screen printed & offered for sale throughout the night. Or if you prefer wearable art bring down a canvas bag or t-shirt and we’ll slang some ink on it! I’M AMPED!!! My lovely wife Tran is also coordinating and producing a psychedelic inspired fashion show with the help of some of her favorite Denver based Fashion Designers. Drop a tab, eat a cap, smoke an “L”, move your mind and come along with us this Friday for one fucking awesome TRIP!

ARTCRANK Denver : Spoke Card / Flyer
I just finished up and shipped off files to printer, for the spoke card / flyer design promoting the Denver chapter of the Artcrank poster show. Here are a few flix… I’m really happy with the way the type stack on the back turned out… design look and feel was based off Identity that Lifter Baron created for this years event. We’ve got a rad line up for the first run of the show out here in Denver… a healthy list consisting of some of the best artists and designers in town. I’ve got a few little bits left to tie up on the promotion side of the show which my lovely wife Tran is helping me out with… I’ll keep posting pieces as everything evolves. Stay tuned!

Thru You
A rad little video mash-up made with Youtube clips. I’m sure this has been smeared all over the web already, but it’s still worth a watch if you haven’t seen it.
Baby Eater Belts Buckles!!!
Good friend and creative cohort, Lucian Foehr of the unstoppable Cypher13, has spent nearly 2 years in the creation of these little delights. Limited to a count of 60 but worth every bite, scratch and nosebleed it’ll take to get your hands on one before they’re all gobbled up. Check out the C13 store for related merch and to place your orders.
ASHI DASHI X EMIL KOZAK

Emil Kozak teamed up with Ken to make some pretty dope socks. Get ‘em while you can.
My Playground
Check out this trailer for what seems to be an amazing Parkour film called My Playground. Shot in Copenhagen and filmed at, in and around some outstanding architecture. Via: Kitsunenoir Blog
Inspired Inspirers
Although they are already on issue 6, the Inspired Inspirers site has done a little something magical in the way of captivation. Well, at least for me it did. The site highlights talent from the entire creative spectrum and connects the dots between the featured designer and their source of inspiration. You get this nice little juxtaposition with out any cliche or drawn out explanations of the individual’s deemed importance in the industry etc. A simple model, done effectively with what seems to be all original content.
