Dwitt @ Java J’s

Dwitt Samples
As Celeste and I attempt to get caught up in the local art scene, we run across all sorts of new and interesting artists. Last night we caught wind of a local by the name of Dwitt. I had heard of this fellow once or twice before on a few of the design studio’s blogs. Some interesting stories had surfaced about a drawing that was done with a bone dipped in his own blood or something like that, so by no means was I going to miss a show of his. The place he was showing was called Java J’s, sort of a bar / coffee spot. An interesting group of people make this place regular. While there, we saw maybe ten different cops, some pseudo Rock-a-billy kids, some “Chads” (douches of the quasi fraternal type) and Dwitt himself. The setting was very casual and comfy, not too quiet and not too loud. The wifi and a latte the size of a bowl of Cheerios kept us static for a couple hours. We took a peek at some of the work, gathered in the coming and goings of the crowd and made our way back to the lair. As you can see from the fairly bad iPhone photos up top, Dwitt has some pretty good work. I’ll make sure to keep and eye and an ear open for his next display of artistic showmanship.
